RHCP's new album "I'm With You" is available for free streaming on iTunes

From what I can remember, this is the first time that iTunes is streaming a full album for free. And from a reputable alternative band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, no less.

As sure as the sun (not) rising on the west, never did I ever expect for iTunes to start streaming full albums for free. Thinking about it now, it does seem to be a good marketing strategy for bands to have listeners get a taste of their new music (in this case, the entire album) before they make the purchase. The full album is not yet available for download but you can already pre-order today and iTunes will automatically download your local copies on August 30th (official release date). It is, however, presumed that the free streaming will discontinue by then.

I'm a fan of RHCP's music. Blood Sugar Sex Magik remains my favorite album from the band. However, this new one sounds unique and fresh that I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this anytime soon. Go and give it a listen (launches iTunes).

PS: Buffering may occur as there may be a lot of listeners worldwide streaming the content. If you are in the office, it's probably better to stream it there using your T1 connections.

PSS: I'm just saying it's better. I'm not encouraging it. There's a difference. I think.

I look forward to the day when all I need to make things happen is a mobile device, the cloud, some rock music and a foul mouth.
